What is microfibre?

Just to explain what microfibre is:
Microfibre is a mix of polyester and polymide. The polymide has been stripped to 100 times finer than a human hair and is woven with the polyester. This gives the effect of thousands of microscopic "hooks" per inch that grab any moisture or dirt. As polyester does not absorb a lot of moisture, all the water is held by the "hooks" and is released quickly when squeezed. |
The capillary action of microfibre soaks up water. Its static action picks up dirt/dust particules
Cotton leaves residue. |
A large number of microfibre towels are made from a mix of 80% polyester and 20% polymide. Many have a chamois or suede effect. The Exe-Dri towel is manufactured from 70% polyester and 30% polymide and has the look of a conventional terry towel. This is why these microfibre towels are so soft and absorbent. |
